How to get the best out of our young actors in rehearsal ?
This week we found ourselves dealing with an exuberant group of young actors, 30 in total. They were all eager to get rehearsing on their new play The Barber which is an adaptation of Sweeney Todd designed for a youth cast which was being rehearsed at The Custard Factory. The actors were cast and they were charged up. This would seem like a great place to be as a starting point and we couldn't knock their enthusiasm, they were after all buzzing but keeping their attention during a lengthy rehearsal can present a challenge.
