Holiday Workshops for young people
What we are offering :
Film School- 3 Day Workshop- February
A chance to work with professional actors and
directors from within the industry
Drama skills & film technique taught will include- Script
writing & reading, creating a character, story-boarding, editing, choosing
sound tracks, acting to camera, creating a crew, set dressing & building, camera work.
Young people will have access to equipment
under the supervision of adults. A short film will be created from a basic
theme, a script will be written from scratch as a group with tutor supervision,
the story will then be storyboarded, actors & crew chosen. Young people can
choose to act or work behind the scenes. The film will be shot on location in
our studio in which a set will be created. On the final day young people will
edit their film. Due to limited time there will not be an opportunity to invite
an audience to a screening. However once the film is completed it will be
uploaded as a private password protected film for parents, family & friends
to view online within two weeks of the workshops completion. Each participating
member will receive a free DVD of
their film project, extra DVD’s can
be ordered at a cost of £5 each. All actors in the film will be required to
obtain parental consent before filming starts and parents will be asked to sign
a consent & release form.

Clare Marie Smith our resident Drama Tutor
who has over 20 years of experience working as a director and actor within the
industry has created the program and will oversee the project
Acting to Camera & all behind the scenes
skills will be taught by tutors from Class Act Drama Centre

The cost of this workshop is reflective of editing and preparation hours that our teaching & technical staff will incur out of hours during and after the workshop in post-production creating the final filmed piece.

7- 16 years. All participants are taught in
age specific groups
Please bring along a packed lunch. There are
facilities onsite to purchase food and drinks throughout the day, however
participants will not be allowed off site to purchase lunch and will be
supervised by tutors at all times.
An Oscar award ceremony for best actors, directors
& crew including a certificate presentation will be held at 2.30pm on the
Payment- To secure a place full payment
must be received. To reserve a place a deposit must be paid of £20 per
participant. The remainder will become due on the 1st day of your chosen workshop. Payments can be made in full at the time of booking via PayPal.
Cancellation- A refund will only be
given if a place is cancelled in writing 7 days prior to the workshop
Special Circumstances- In the event of
illness a refund will be considered by our head office which would need to be
submitted in writing.
Behaviour- We expect a
certain level of behaviour at our Holiday Workshops & Summer Schools
and foster an environment of mutual respect. If an individual is disruptive,
verbally abusive to a teacher or another child on a repeated basis and does
not display improved behaviour they will be asked to leave. Under these
circumstances refunds will not be given.
Permission- By taking part in the
workshops permission is granted to use photographs taken during the workshops
of my child which maybe used on this website & local press and for
performances to be filmed by a private attending audience which will consist of
family & friends. Those attending Film School workshops will be asked to
sign a consent & release form, a copy of this form must be signed and
returned to tutors at the first day of Film School.

Please note although it is free to send
funds PayPal levy a charge to receive funds. Class Act Drama Centre
charge a small handling fee as a percentage of the total amount of course fees
to cover these charges. This may show on your PayPal invoice as

To qualify for this rate you must be a current full paying member of Class Act Drama Centre, this discount is not available to former members. Our membership department will check membership records and inform tutors of current status & class attended prior to the workshops.
